How to start an at home cake business

When it comes to a baking business at home, it's a  little more difficult than it seems! When I first started this cake business, my initial thoughts were that "There's not much to this!" Ha! What an understatement!
Before you even begin on making a cake business, there are so many steps to go through.
To Begin, you need to come up with a name for your business! (It'll probably be beneficial for you and your future customers to know your business name). Not sure how to do it? I'll show you. For me, I chose "Sweet Baker's Bliss". I chose this name because-1) Baking is filled with sweet things. 2) I am a baker! And 3) Baking is my bliss as I am sure that it is others also. It incorporated everything that I loved to do,and so do others.
After you pick out a name, it's probably safe to say that you should come up with a business plan. In order to do this, you should be a little creative (It'll do ya good). Sometimes creating a business plan is difficult and sometimes its not. For example, at first it was pretty simple for me. I figured out my prices, how i'd take payment, my designs etc.  However, now I have an Assistant Manager, one of my bestfirends, and we've begun adding new things to the menu such as pastries and things of that nature. So now, my business plan has become much more complex. What i'm trying to say is that if you have little, it'll be simple. If you have a lot, it'll be complex. Keep this in mind.

After you have all these things accomplished, next is to register as an LLC and get an EIN.  An LLC is a "Limited Liability Company". It's mainly a business structure that creates a pass through for taxation. It's pretty important if you ever plan on claiming your business on your taxes. An EIN is an "Employer Identification Number". Its assigned by the IRS and is used to identify employers accounts. Now, these two vital things aren't cheap. They are kind of expensive. An LLC costs around $100 and an EIN costs around $265. Now, if you can find a cheaper price than Thank God, but I've done a lot of researching and this is the best I could find.

After that, I'd suggest buying business cards. I got mine from Vistaprint and they turned out AMAZING! I'd also recommend getting a door magnet that way you can advirtise on the go. Make some social media accounts  such as an FB page, Instagram, Twitter and also make a blog. Do what you can to get known!

Thanks for reading lovelies!
